OK, here is where the name came from!

I am a Veteran, and found out in 2010 that I had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from military service.  (and although I was diagnosed in 1976, dear old Uncle Sam forgot to tell me. )

This began to a lot of discovery, and part of that made me examine what I was doing. My Veteran Counselors advised me to change things up.  I left Columbia and the attitudes of the Midlands, for the Low Coutry.  I enrolled in trident's Visual Arts program as a Disabled Veteran.    During one of my classes, I was urged to consider a name for my budding photography career.

Well, not being the greatest and most imaginative person, I grabbed my chair and headed out back.

Now, at the time, I had just moved to West of the Ashley and my apartment was situated right on the marsh.  I mean out my back door was the marsh!!!!  I spent many nights contemplating the universe in that back yard.  (I have come up with nothing new, so keep checking. I will update you if I do!)

Anyhow, one of the small tidal creeks ran at the back of my back yard.  It had a bunch of rocks dropped in it, and as the tide got real slow, it sounded just like a mountain stream, babbling over the rocks!

Anyhow, as normal, I digress.  I took plenty of pictures of the marsh and explored night and storm photography in that back yard.

So as I sat there beside one of my favorite thinking spots, beside that little tidal creek, Side of the Creek Photography was hatched!
